Jon Gruden Shows Off Gift From Former Player Maxx Crosby That ‘Blew Him Away’

The Las Vegas Raiders hired Pete Carroll to be their coach this off-season, keeping star defensive end Maxx Crosby in the process.

The decision to keep Crosby in Las Vegas turned heads across the NFL and sent a message that the Raiders are preparing to compete for the AC West crown again rather than re-engaging in a rebuild mode.

On Tuesday, the man who drafted Crosby in spring 2019, along with help from a friend who encouraged him to pull the trigger, Jon Gruden, showed off an impressive collection of gifts that Crosby sent to him recently including a thank you note from Crosby’s alma mater addressed to the legendary coach.

“This is one of the most special boxes I have ever received because it comes from one of my favorite all time players… MAXX CROSBY!” Gruden wrote on X.

“EMUFB (Eastern Michigan) Eagles were kind enough to send me a package and there’s something in here that blew me away! Thank you Coach Creighton and Maxx!!”

Gruden showed off a piece of authentic gray turf from Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti, Michigan along with an authentic green Eagles helmet and jersey. He praised Crosby and the Eagles’ efforts on the field while encouraging high school recruits to attend the school if they’re ready to give maximum effort.

He also received a personal note that caught his attention as he revealed the box of goodies Eastern Michigan, Crosby’s alma mater, sent him.
